The “original” Highway 41 Corridor Master Plan was prepared for the City of Post Falls by the Transpo Group in August of 2002. It was funded by the Transportation Equity Act for the 21st Century of 1998 under the Transportation and Community and System Preservation Pilot Program grant under the Federal Highway Administration, Idaho Division. Although the corridor plan was completed and not officially adopted, the City of Post Falls utilized the plan.
In 2014, the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) became interested in updating the SH-41 Corridor Master Plan. After discussions with the KCATT committee and the KMPO Board, the Board authorized moving forward with the update. With assistance and participation from the local jurisdictions and ITD, KMPO staff agreed to update the Plan.
